SCENTHOUND SPONSORS FIRST-EVER BARKS & BEACHES FUNDRAISING EVENT ON OCT. 24 IN JUPITER, RUNS CHARITY DOGWASH

Family event celebrates the 21st Anniversary of Friends of Jupiter Beach, a community organization that supports and maintains healthy, clean and dog-friendly beaches in Jupiter, FL. Scenthound is an event sponsor and will be running a Charity Dogwash to raise money for the organization.

Jupiter, FL – Oct. 12, 2015 – Scenthound (http://www.scenthound.com), the convenient and affordable way for dog parents to get essential care and monthly maintenance for their dogs, announces its sponsorship and participation in the first-ever Barks & Beaches fundraising event, held on Saturday, October 24, 2015, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Abacoa Town Center in Jupiter, FL.

A team of “Scent Techs” from Scenthound Plus Jupiter will offer essential care services (baths, ear cleaning, nail trims, and teeth brushing) for dogs at the event, in an effort to raise money for Friends of Jupiter Beach. One hundred percent of proceeds will be donated to the organization. 

Barks & Beaches (http://friendsofjupiterbeach.org/barks-beaches/) celebrates the 21st Anniversary of Friends of Jupiter Beach. The family event features all things dogs and beaches: food, music, vendors, dog washes, pet adoptions, demonstrations, contests, children’s activities and a Doggie Fun Zone. Barks & Beaches will help raise money for Friends of Jupiter Beach, 501(c)(3) community organization whose goal is to support and maintain environmentally healthy, clean, and dog friendly beaches in Jupiter, Florida, through volunteerism and education. Although FJB has been recognized with achievement awards from both the Town of Jupiter and Palm Beach County, it receives no government funding of any kind, and is supported solely through fundraisers and donations from an appreciative public.

The recent transition to Scenthound reflects the company’s shift to focus on dog health and wellness, offering a Monthly Care Club that includes the essential care and maintenance every dog needs – whether or not they require a regular haircut. 2nd Annual Dog Care Awareness Day #winning

File this one under Total Success: our second annual Dog Care Awareness Day was a hit!  We provided free Scenthound Express services to 156 dogs, and offered tips and wisdom about preventive care and regular maintenance to their humans. (That's almost $4,000 worth of free services!) Tons of people from all over Palm Beach County showed up and enjoyed all that Downtown at the Gardens has to offer, plus training demonstrations, tips on home dog care, prize giveaways, and absolutely perfect weather.  Mindy from Lucky Dog Sports Club offered training demonstrations, Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League had dogs available for adoption, and Friends of Jupiter Beach was there showing their support for all our south Florida pups.

People said they really appreciated the information we provided about the whys and hows of preventive maintenance. It was so much fun to meet everyone and their smiling pups.  The human kids seemed to love the face painting and games, and the grown-ups liked the prize giveaways!

A special thanks to Downtown at the Gardens for their support and help, as well as generous donations from many of their tenants: Grimaldi's, Blend Bistro, Blessed Boutique, Ceci, Lola Chiq, Golf Tec, Mimi's Daughter, Taylor Fitness, and TooJay's.  What a feel-good, community-building event -- and all for dogs' sake.

2nd Annual Dog Care Awareness Day!

We care so much about making sure every dog in America gets the regular maintenance they need that, for one afternoon a year, we make it totally FREE.

Yep, FREE. No excuses, y'all: great venue, family-friendly, free prizes, stuff for the kids, dog care and training demonstrations, adoptions, and FREE Scenthound Express services.  

What's a Scenthound Express, you say? (Oh, you've been missing out!) That's a bath + towel-dry, ear-cleaning, nail-trimming, and teeth-brushing -- all while you wait. Normally, it's $25 (which is still an amazing value), but at Dog Care Awareness Day it's totally free. That's how much we believe in our service and how confident we are that you'll love it, too. Plus, our dog care experts will be on hand showing you how to trim your dog's nails and clean her ears. We'll have lots of helpful info and fun stuff to do, face-painting and balloon animals for the kids, the list goes on. It's really a fun, informative--and did we mention FREE?--event.

Pet Groomerie owner Tim Vogel formed Scenthound in 2013, with a mission to revolutionize the dog care industry by offering fast, inexpensive, basic grooming to all dog owners, not just traditional grooming clients. Vogel began by operating out of a mobile grooming salon at various Palm Beach County locations such as Jupiter neighborhoods, Pet Supermarket, and Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League.  Pet Groomerie donates a portion of its proceeds from rescue events to Peggy Adams a in support of their shared commitment to educating and empowering dog owners so that pets stay in happy, healthy, lifelong homes.

Vogel says, "I've found that most dogs go without regular grooming simply because people don’t realize their dogs need it. It's a sad fact that 80 percent of dogs over age 3 have periodontal disease that could have been prevented by regular tooth-brushing. Other dogs develop infections and muscular-skeletal issues from nails that were allowed to grow too long. I wanted to offer a service that both educates dog owners on the basic care their dog needs to remain healthy and that is fast, convenient, and less expensive than a full grooming session."  The Scenthound Express is available by appointment and on a walk-in basis at area events and also at both Pet Groomerie salons; for $25 dogs get all the essentials while their owner waits: wash and towel-dry, ear-cleaning, teeth-brushing, and nail-trimming.  He adds, “We're really passionate about changing the way people understand 'grooming,’ It's for more than good looks - it's critical for dogs’ health, too."

The “Dog Care Awareness” event at Downtown at the Gardens is free and family-friendly.  Dog owners are encouraged to bring their dogs to the event for a free Scenthound Express service as well as a wealth of information on extending and enhancing their dogs’ lives.  Since this is a public event with a large turnout expected, dogs in attendance should be friendly, leashed and up to date on rabies vaccination.
