We'll keep it short and sweet on how to keep your pup safe today:
1. Don't leave your candy where your dog can get to it. KIDS WILL LEAVE THEIR CANDY AND THEIR NASTY LITTLE CANDY WRAPPERS EVERYWHERE. Make sure you go behind the ones in your household and keep all that stuff away from your pet -- and out of trashcans that can be nosed into!
2. Besides chocolate and Xylitol (a sweetener that's toxic to dogs), you just really don't want your dog to be swallowing a Twizzler wrapper. And keep candles, carved pumpkins, and all other temptations out of reach as well!
3. Consider putting your pet in a separate room during Trick-or-Treat hours. Think of it from his point of view: constantly-ringing doorbell (ALERT! ALERT!), strange people in weird outfits and masks, fast-moving kids, and loud voices. THAT'S scary.
4. Keep your pets indoors -- people and punky kids can get weird during Halloween. You don't want mean pranks or tricks or worse played on your poor furkid.
Other than that, Debbie Downer, have a great Halloween! And send us cute costume photos!
